Fun Wednesday
April 8, 2026
On Wednesday morning the children enjoyed free play with a mix of puzzles, art activities and games. It was a relaxed and creative start, with friends choosing how they wanted to begin their day and spending time together.
The first lesson of the day was language arts with Leizel, focusing on vowels and the difference between long and short sounds. The children took turns thinking of words that matched each sound, sharing their ideas with the class and building their confidence as they practised.
After the lesson we headed out for our usual park time. There was plenty of running, climbing and group games, giving everyone a chance to stretch their legs and enjoy being outdoors.
In the afternoon we had Japanese class with Masa. The older boys worked on kanji, while the younger friends focused on hiragana and katakana, singing their song and completing worksheets to practise what they had learnt. Everyone worked hard and supported each other throughout the lesson.
Later on we gathered for geography, where the class looked at the progress made on the globe that had been started the previous week. We talked about different countries and their locations, helping the children understand where places are in the world and how they connect.
To round off the day, the class worked together to paint the globe. Each child took turns to paint a country or part of a country, carefully adding their contribution to the shared project.
It was a thoughtful and collaborative Wednesday, full of learning, creativity and teamwork, with everyone proud to be part of building something together.
